This image combines an iconic wall mural from the heart of Memphis’s Soulsville district with one of the cities newest landmarks, the Landing on the riverfront. In Memphis we felt the history around every corner, like no other place I’ve been. This image was me playing with bringing the past and present together.
When I was there Frank Gehry -a Toronto native- had just redesigned the museum, most noticeably the facade. ‘AGO’. I loved this little spot where the new building almost hits this bus stop, the RedBall would have been perfect as part of the Luminato Festival. Alas the building was new, the art museum firmly unadventurous (as they sadly often are), so this print is the idea realized.
