UPDATE SUNDAY 07.08.2016. #BackToTheRoots: An insight into my spice-blending heritage….biryani making in Mauritius. 4th generation small family business cooking biryani, catering from 10 to thousands of people. Here, my cousins completing an order of 2000 portions being loaded on a truck to be served at a wedding. These massive pots are called “deg” in the local french-based creole dialect…they come in various sizes and can contain from 10 to 1000s of portions. I’m proud of that rich heritage, now allowing me to bring to market a range of unique Mauritian-inspired spice mixes thanks to Musgrave Group, SuperValu Ireland, Bord Bia and Local Enterprise Office South Dublin through their #FoodAcademy programme, giving small producers a big chance. #SpiceDevils is now available in 25 SuperValu Stores across Leinster and that number is gradually increasing. Thank you to all who’ve helped me achieve so much and a special big thanks to the continuous support of our loyal customers 😊
